Quickstart
Sign up, choose a plan, get a seeded menu and board, then pair your first screen — end to end.
This walkthrough takes you from a new account to a live menu board playing on a real screen. The whole flow is designed to leave you with something working, not an empty dashboard.
1. Create your workspace#
- 1
Start onboarding
Go to the sign-up flow. Account creation happens inside onboarding — there is no separate login step to hunt for.
- 2
Name your restaurant
This creates your first restaurant (your workspace) on the
trialplan. You can add more locations later. - 3
Choose a plan
On the plan screen you can start free or pick Crubby Sync. Manager is always included. See Plans & limits.
Good to know
Confirming a plan seeds your workspace: an (empty) active menu, a monitor, and a first signage board — so you land on something you can immediately wire up. The menu starts blank; you fill it in next.
2. Shape your menu#
- 1Open Manager → Menu and add your categories and products, or import a CSV.
- 2Add your ingredients with costs so Crubby can compute food cost.
- 3Tag allergens on ingredients — they roll up to products automatically. See Allergens.
3. Design a board#
- 1
Open Display → Menu Boards
Your seeded board is there. Click Edit to open the native board editor.
- 2
Add and arrange modules
Drop in a
productList, brandBlock, heroorqrmodule and bind it to a menu category. Modules pull live menu data — you only design layout and style. - 3
Publish
Save a draft as you go, then Publish to push it to any screen showing this board.
4. Connect a screen#
- 1
Open Display → Fleet and choose Add screen
Name it and pick its location (optionally enter the TV's size and model so the fleet view renders it accurately).
- 2
Open the screen's URL on the TV
Crubby gives you a web address — open it in the TV's browser and it starts playing. There's no pairing code; the QR shown is just to test the link on your phone.
- 3
Assign content
Assign a board, a sequence, or a schedule and the screen follows it live.
Tip
Full walkthrough: Set up your first TV.
Tip
Edits propagate to live screens within about a second — publish the board and watch the TV update without touching it.
5. (Optional) Add a QR to a board#
Boards can carry a qr module — encode a website, wifi join code, or a link to a menu page so guests can scan it from the screen. See the board editor.
