Allergens

An allergen-centric matrix that rolls up automatically from your ingredients — EU 1169/2011 compliant.

The Allergens page is a read-out, not a second place to type allergens. It shows which ingredients carry which allergens and which menu items are therefore affected.

How allergens flow#

  1. 1You tag allergens on ingredients (the source of truth).
  2. 2A product's effective allergens = the union of any direct declaration and everything inherited from its recipe ingredients.
  3. 3Composable products also pull allergens from the ingredients in their choice groups.

Heads up

Crubby never auto-overwrites a manual allergen declaration. Effective allergens are computed at read time as a union, so adding a manual tag can only add safety, never remove it. This is intentional under EU Regulation 1169/2011.

Using the matrix#

  • See, per allergen, which ingredients carry it and which menu items are affected.
  • Edit allergen tags from here — but remember you're editing the ingredient, which updates every product that uses it.
