Menu
The one canonical menu editor: categories, products, prices, photos, availability and ordering.
The Menu page is the single editor for your catalogue. It replaces the old separate menu / builder / import screens — everything happens here.
Categories and products#
- Create categories (shown as tabs) and add products under each.
- Each product has a name, description, unit (in-store) price, an optional delivery price, a photo and a recipe.
- Edit prices inline in the spreadsheet grid; the currency follows the location's settings.
- Products sort by column in the grid; categories are organised as tabs.
Spreadsheet editing#
The menu editor is a data grid. Turn on edit mode to type directly into cells, fill down a value across a selection (Excel-style), and run bulk actions: apply a percentage price change, set availability, or archive a batch of products with a preview before you commit.
Availability and prep#
- Toggle a product live or archived — archived items disappear from menus but are never deleted.
- Use the Archived section to restore anything.
- Mark products that require kitchen preparation (on by default).
Recipes & food cost#
Inside the product editor you can build a recipe by linking ingredients (type @ to pick one) with quantities. The recipe drives two things automatically: the product's food cost / margin in Financials, and its allergens (see Allergens).
Allergens on products#
A product's allergens are inherited from its recipe ingredients and shown read-only here. You can add a manual override, but Crubby never silently overwrites a declaration — allergen safety is governed by EU Regulation 1169/2011. See Allergens.
Photos#
Attach an image to any product from your media library, or generate one with Studio. The image shows on boards bound to that product.
Large catalogues#
Catalogues over ~50 categories paginate and lazy-load on demand so the editor stays fast.
Multi-location editing#
On a secondary location, the catalogue is shown inherited and read-only, with per-location price overrides available. The home location has full edit rights. See Locations.
Good to know
Editing the menu here is exactly how you change what's on your TVs. Boards never store prices — they reference these products.
